Alexander Valley + Video Link!

Updated: Jul 29, 2023

Alexander Valley is known as an AVA which stands for American Viticulture Area, but they also have a winery named after it too! Thanks to Hank Wetzel of Alexander Valley Vineyards which has successfully made this an AVA in 1984. One of the warmest regions in Sonoma County and northern California as a whole, so grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah, and many others thrive here!

Alexander Valley Appellation, in northeastern Sonoma County, is a majestic compelling valley where you drive through vineyards grown on the valley floor up into the breathtaking Mayacama Mountains above you. Discover our wineries where you will experience complex, extraordinary wines from the families farming the land. A winegrowing region of diverse ancient soils, built on tradition, a deep farming culture and producing wines of place. You will walk away with a greater understanding not only of our wines, yet our way of life. Please have a look at the Chardonnay I reviewed from the Alexander Valley vineyards producer in a split bottle!
